Why do man not wear hats anymore. I love this image by Lee Friedlander, the haggard hazed gaze of the pianist (Count Basie) and the knowing smile of the person at his side (Pee Wee Marquette). NYC 1957. Somedays I feel I was born in the wrong era… Although I recognize that I romanticize a time of great injustice, I do feel that Men used to have style. Now not so much. (and no annoying hipsters wearing pork pie hats to be cool don’t count.)
